Information we collect
When you request a proposal
If you use the “Request a proposal” form, we collect the details you enter: your name, company, work email, phone number (optional), number of locations, primary city and state, the services you’re interested in, and any message you include. We also briefly use your IP address to limit repeated submissions and prevent spam.
When you subscribe to our newsletter
If you sign up for our newsletter, we collect your email address, the date you signed up and the page you signed up from. We also briefly use your IP address to limit repeated sign-ups and prevent spam.
When you apply for a job
If you apply for a position on our careers page, we collect your first and last name, email address, and any other information you choose to provide, such as your phone number, a portfolio or profile link, a cover letter, answers to questions about the role, and your resume (PDF or Word document).
When you use the Employer Portal
The Employer Portal is for authorized SCSI staff and partners. For portal accounts we store your name, email address, role, notification preferences and account settings. For security, we keep a log of sign-in attempts and actions taken in the portal, including the date, time and IP address.
When you report a problem
If you use a “Report a problem” form, we collect the description you write and, if you choose to give them, your name and email address.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider’s servers automatically record basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We do not use advertising or analytics tracking on this site.
How we use your information
- To respond to proposal requests and discuss our services with you.
- To send our newsletter to people who sign up for it.
- To review job applications, contact applicants and make hiring decisions.
- To operate, secure and maintain the site and the Employer Portal, including preventing spam and unauthorized access.
- To fix problems you report.
- To meet legal obligations.
How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Within SCSI. Proposal requests go to our team by email. Job applications and resumes are available only to signed-in SCSI staff and hiring managers responsible for that position, and application notifications are sent to them by email.
- Service providers. Our website is hosted by Hostinger, which stores the site’s data on our behalf. The site also loads fonts from Google Fonts and icons from jsDelivr, which means your browser connects to those services and they receive your IP address. Some service pages include videos hosted on YouTube; the video player only loads from YouTube after you choose to play a video, and YouTube’s own privacy policy then applies.
- Email delivery. If we use an email delivery service to send our newsletter, it receives subscriber email addresses only for that purpose.
- Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property or safety of SCSI, our employees or others.
Cookies and similar technologies
Public pages of this site do not set advertising or tracking cookies. The Employer Portal uses cookies that are needed to keep you signed in securely, and it remembers your light or dark display preference in your browser’s local storage. You can clear these at any time in your browser settings.
How we protect your information
Resumes are stored in a protected location and can only be downloaded by signed-in staff with access to that job listing. The site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect the information you give us.
How long we keep information
We keep proposal requests, job applications and portal records for as long as we need them for the purposes described above, or as long as the law requires. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see below).
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link in any newsletter email, or by contacting us. You can also ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to withdraw a job application. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state law. To make a request, email info@scsione.com or call 1 (800) 695-0773. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Children’s privacy
This site is intended for businesses and job seekers. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
